OPTIONAL - Conservation Hours
Healthy Forests Workday: Invasive Plant Removal at Bacon Ridge Natural Area - Scenic Rivers Land TrustConservation hours are specific service hours that are required for both STAR and LIFE ranks.  All ranks after Scout require service hours. Since this is not a scout event, there might not be scout leaders at the event.  Protect the Health of YOUR Local Forest: Join us at Bacon Ridge Natural Area in Crownsville to spend a morning removing harmful invasive plants from along the trails!Scenic Rivers’ Healthy Forests Program engages community volunteers to help protect the long-term vitality of our largest conservation easement located within Bacon Ridge Natural Area. Our March 2025 workday will focus on vines, shrubs, and grasses. Crofton Cherry Blossom Festival
We will be participating in the Crofton Cherry Blossom Festival again this year.  We will be demonstrating some Scout skills and running some games and/or crafts for younger kids.  This is a good way to give exposure to our troop and recruit new individuals into Scouting, plus it was a lot of fun last time we did it!  Bring money for the food trucks if you would like.  We will likely run shifts so that you don't have to stay the whole time (but you are welcome to stay the whole time!)."Spring is Calling You to the Crofton Cherry Blossom Festival – The cold of winter is fading, and the Cherry blossoms are returning to Crofton, as is the Crofton Cherry Blossom Festival, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 22nd. This is the biggest Crofton Cherry Blossom Festival to date with 40 participants including six food trucks, music by Brendan Lane and the Sugar Packets, free face painting, seven local artists and crafters, and tons of activities and handouts by 25 local family, kids, and civic service organizations. The Cherry Blossom Festival is a lot of fun, but also a chance for you to learn about opportunities to get your family involved in Crofton life! You can also sign-up to have your water tested by Rivers of the World Foundation (send an email to send an email to rowfoundation@gmail.com for details) and we encourage you to bring donations of baby food, wipes, diapers, and clothing for the Crofton Baby Pantry, which supports families in need throughout Anne Arundel County. The inner loop of the Crofton Parkway will be closed off for the Crofton Cherry Blossom Festival between Eton Way and Eton Way for a block party atmosphere. Traffic can detour on Ellsworth Avenue where attendees that drive can also park their cars. This is a free family event organized by the Crofton Civic Association and everyone is welcome!"
